Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Feudal Security, LLC ("EpicDetect", "we", "us"), which runs epicdetect.io. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use EpicDetect. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Who can use EpicDetect

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf. You may not use EpicDetect if you are barred from doing so under the laws that apply to you.

2. Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider, Clerk, with an email address or a supported provider such as Google. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. An account is for one person: do not share it or sell access to it.

Your username can appear publicly, for example on the leaderboard and on badge pages you choose to share. Do not pick a username that impersonates someone, is offensive, or infringes another's rights. We may change or remove usernames that break these rules.

3. The free plan and Premium

The free plan costs nothing, needs no card and has no time limit. Premium is a paid subscription that opens additional content; what it includes is listed on our pricing page. As of the date above, Premium costs $25 a month or $180 a year, in US dollars, plus any tax that applies.

Free trial. Your first Premium subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged the plan price. Trials are one per person.

Renewal. Premium renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and charges the payment method on file until you cancel. Payments are processed by Clerk and Stripe; we never see your full card number.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Plan and billing in your account menu. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account returns to the free plan. Your progress is not deleted.

Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, including for partly used billing periods, except where the law requires otherwise. If you were charged twice or charged in error, email support@epicdetect.io and we will put it right.

Price changes. We may change prices. A change applies to your subscription only from your next billing period after we have told you about it, so you can cancel first if you prefer.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Premium may be paused or ended until payment succeeds.

The Security+ 30-Day Accelerator is a separate one-time program with its own program terms, which apply to it in addition to these.

4. Acceptable use

When you use EpicDetect, you agree not to:

  • share your account, or resell or redistribute access to Premium content;
  • copy, scrape, download in bulk or republish our lessons, cases, exam questions, flashcards or other content, or use automated tools to access the site;
  • attack, probe or test the security of EpicDetect itself, or try to get around access controls or payment, without our written permission;
  • use what you learn here against systems or people you are not authorized to test or investigate;
  • post or submit anything unlawful, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights; or
  • interfere with other learners' use of the site.

Found a security problem? Please tell us at support@epicdetect.io instead of testing further. We appreciate it.

5. Our content

EpicDetect's lessons, cases, Adventures, exam questions, flashcards, software, design and branding belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use them for your own learning while you have access. Short quotes with attribution are fine; copying whole lessons, cases or question sets is not.

Cases, Adventures and their companies, people and data are fictional training scenarios. Any resemblance to real organizations or events is not intended.

6. What you submit

You keep ownership of what you submit, such as queries, answers and investigation notes. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run EpicDetect: for example to score your work, show your progress, and improve our content.

7. Training, not a guarantee

EpicDetect is training material. It is not professional security, legal or career advice. We do not guarantee that you will pass a certification exam or get a job.

Our exam preparation is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CompTIA. CompTIA, Security+, Network+ and A+ are trademarks of CompTIA, Inc. Other product names we mention belong to their owners.

8. Changes to EpicDetect

We add, change and sometimes retire content and features. If we remove something that is a significant part of Premium, we will tell you, and you can cancel.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using EpicDetect at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@epicdetect.io. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site or other learners at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why first. If we close a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.

10. Disclaimers

EpicDetect is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the site will always be available, error-free, or that the content is complete or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Feudal Security, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of EpicDetect. Our total liability for any claim relating to EpicDetect is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

12. Indemnity

If you misuse EpicDetect or break these terms and a third party makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for a material change we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using EpicDetect after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the site.
